About the company

Founded in 1989, Dalian PuWan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (Former Dalian GuCheng Ship Building and Repair Co., Ltd.) specializes in steel/metal structure, building, renovation, and maintenance of civilian ships and marine engineering. In 1993 the company was certified by the IS9001-2000 quality management system and project management. The company currently has two factories located in Dalian, China, covering an area of 538195.521 Sq Ft. And has 890 sets of highly advanced machines. PuWan Heavy industry currently has 500 experienced full-time employees.

The company has undertaken a wide range of large-scale projects through decades of ongoing efforts, with remarkable results achieved and rich construction experience accumulated. Since the section building of the new Dalian Shipbuilding Factory in 1989, the company has participated in various civilian ship-building projects, such as structure building and coating construction for 150,000-ton crude oil carrier series ship, 150,000-ton cargo ship, 52,000-ton all-hatch multi-purpose ship, 110,000-ton oil product carrier series, 300,000-ton crude oil carrier series, 5,600-ton large container ship, 4,250-ton container series ship, 2,970 crude oil carrier, BC1800 bulk cargo series ship, T7600 crude oil series ship, CS1800 container series ships, 80,000-ton bulk cargo ship, and 57,000-ton bulk cargo ship.

In addition, it has also carried out the construction and maintenance engineering for offshore projects. Projects undertaken in recent years included: Repair and modification structure, piping system and coating construction of 1# and 4# Ziqianghao drilling platforms in South China Sea; repair and modification structure, piping system and coating construction of Shengli 2#, 4#, 6#, 7#, 8#, 9#, and 10# drilling platforms; repair and modification structure, piping system and coating construction of Bohai 4#, 6#,7#, 8#, 9#, and 10# platforms; NDB continental shelf modification, coating construction; structure closure and coating for Huizhou, Panyu, Lvda, Mexico PEMEX living module projects;

structure production and painting for Qinhuangdao 32-6, Wenchang 13-1/2, and Bozhong 25-1 process module construction; FPSO – 3#, 5# project construction structure and coating; 11, 12, 13, 14, 15#; L780—1, 2#; CJ46—1#; DSJ300-1, 2, 3, 4#; BT4000 ship structure building, installation of outfits, installation of lifting and lockign device of the self-elevating platform, the layout of various base lines and data measurement (incl. sample line marking, bed mould marking, data measurement before and after welding as well as upon completion), the overall assembly of body sections, folded marking and positioning, positioning measurement of large devices, measurement of principal dimensions of ship, marking of ship name and draught mark, marking of various base lines for legs of the jack-up platform and various stages (including sample line marking, measurement and test of incoming data, completion and closure before and after welding for JU2000—1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 semi-submersible drilling\workover platforms, A5000 semi-submersible drilling platform, G85K, G8500 series liquefied ethane gas carrier and the like projects.

There are also manufacturing and closure of ship sections, piping system fabrication and installation, coating, equipment installation, construction of pile legs, lifting foundations, cantilever beams and pile shoes for the drilling platform.
